About LifeEcho

A voice-first memoir app: speak your memories out loud, and LifeEcho shapes them into chapters you can print, share and keep.

LifeEcho is a voice-first memoir app. Instead of asking people to sit down and write a book, it invites them to simply talk: press record, answer a question, and let the words come out the way they always do in conversation. Your speech is transcribed into editable text, so you can tidy a sentence later without ever having to type the first draft.

As you record, LifeEcho organises your memories into a timeline of eras and chapters, suggests follow-up questions drawn from what you have already said, and keeps the photos you upload beside the years they belong to. Family members can be invited as helpers to add their own recollections, and a separate private journal gives you somewhere to write or speak about today, not just the past.

LifeEcho is made for people who have a life story worth keeping and no interest in writing it by hand — grandparents and parents recording their own memoirs, adult children gathering a parent's memories before they slip away, and family historians who want something richer than a list of dates. When a story is finished, it can be exported as a print-ready Word document, a Kindle-ready PDF or plain text, so it can be printed, bound, shared, or lodged with a genealogy archive.

LifeEcho is designed and built by a small, independent team based in Australia. It is a labour of love rather than a large publishing house: we build the app we wanted for our own families, and we keep the experience deliberately simple, with large controls, plain language and no jargon. Your stories remain yours, stored privately and never sold.

Speak, don't write

Press record and tell your story in your own voice. LifeEcho turns speech into editable text, so no one has to face a blank page.

Gentle prompts

After each session, thoughtful follow-up questions help the memories keep flowing — the way a good interviewer would ask them.

Family helpers

Invite a son, daughter or friend to sit alongside you, add photos and help shape the chapters.

A book at the end

Export to a print-ready Word document, a Kindle-ready PDF, or plain text — and print your memoir to hold in your hands.
